JPEG · PNG · WebP 25 MB / 20 imagesReduce image file size with quality or a target size
Compress up to 20 images in a local batch. JPEG and WebP offer quality and target KB or MB controls. PNG is losslessly re-encoded and may remain the same size or become larger; it has no quality slider.
How to use this tool
- Open JPEG, PNG or static WebP files. Select WebP, JPEG or PNG as the output format.
- For JPEG or WebP, set a quality level or choose a target file size. Review the preview before generating.
- Generate the batch. Compare actual output sizes, then download selected files individually or in a ZIP.
Settings and output
- WebP at 82% quality is the starting setting, rather than a promise of a particular file size.
- Target mode searches quality from 10% to 95% with at most eight attempts. It keeps the highest tested quality that fits.
- If the target cannot be reached, the smallest attempted result is shown. Image dimensions are not silently reduced.
Common questions
How can I compress an image to 200 KB?
Select JPEG or WebP, choose Target size and enter 200 KB. Generate and check the actual size. If the tool reports that the target was not reached, use Resize Image to reduce dimensions, then try compression again.
Why is a compressed file sometimes larger?
A small, already optimized image may not shrink through re-encoding. PNG preserves pixel detail instead of using a quality tradeoff. Try JPEG or WebP for photographs and compare the saved result before replacing your original.
