JPEG · PNG · WebP 25 MB / 1 imagesView, edit or remove EXIF without re-encoding the photo
Inspect EXIF fields in JPEG, PNG and WebP files, including camera information, dates and GPS coordinates. Edit supported fields or remove EXIF while preserving the compressed image pixels and the original file format.
How to use this tool
- Open one photo to view and search its EXIF fields.
- Edit supported fields, or select Remove EXIF for metadata cleanup. Use Comment for Unicode text such as Chinese or Arabic.
- Save a copy and review its metadata table before downloading. Keep the original when you may need its camera records later.
Settings and output
- Editable fields include description, author, copyright, camera, software, three timestamps, comment and GPS location.
- Orientation and dimensions are read-only. Removing EXIF keeps necessary display orientation to avoid turning the photo sideways.
- Ordinary edits may leave old values in the EXIF block. Remove EXIF rebuilds that block; XMP, IPTC and other metadata remain unchanged.
Common questions
Does Remove EXIF remove every kind of metadata?
No. It removes EXIF, its GPS fields, embedded thumbnail and old EXIF values while retaining necessary orientation. XMP, IPTC and other metadata are not removed, so this is not a complete metadata scrubber.
Does editing EXIF reduce image quality?
This tool changes file metadata without decoding or re-encoding the compressed image pixels. Its output keeps the source format. Other image tools use a separate pixel-processing and encoding pipeline.
