Keep an original and choose the wording
A visible watermark can identify the copy you publish with a name, website or short copyright notice. It becomes part of the exported pixels. Keep an unwatermarked original because the downloaded result does not contain a separate watermark layer you can switch off.
Photobox supports text watermarks on JPEG, PNG and static WebP images. You can open up to 20 files in a batch. Replace the sample wording with your own text, using at most 120 characters across three lines. This version does not import a separate logo image.
Choose a position that fits the composition
The nine position buttons run from top left to bottom right. A bottom corner is useful for a small credit, while a central or repeated watermark is more visible across the subject. These image positions stay the same even when the interface is in a right-to-left language.
- Open Add Watermark to Image and select your photos.
- Enter your text, then choose a system font, bold setting, color and dark outline if needed.
- Adjust text size, opacity and rotation. Choose one of the nine positions and an outer margin, or switch on tiling.
- Select different source photos to inspect the preview, especially when the batch contains both portrait and landscape images.
Use proportional sizing across a batch
Text size and margin are percentages of each image’s shorter side. With a 4% size setting, a 3000 × 2000 photo starts with 80-pixel text. A 1200 × 900 photo starts with 36-pixel text. This keeps the label proportional instead of applying one fixed pixel size to very different images.
For a single-position watermark, text that would extend beyond the image is reduced to fit, taking rotation into account. Very long wording may therefore look smaller than the chosen percentage suggests. Shorten the text or use another line when readability matters. Font appearance depends on the system fonts available on the current device.
Check contrast and repeated placement
White text may disappear on a bright wall; dark text may disappear in a shadow. A dark outline can help light text remain legible. Reduce opacity until the image stays usable, then inspect details underneath the text. The preview and export use the same layout calculations.
Tiling repeats the text over the image. Adjust its spacing and angle to control the pattern. Repeats at the canvas edges can be clipped. A watermark is a visible label, not a technical barrier to copying, cropping or editing the image.
Generate, review and download
Generate the batch and compare the actual finished files. Download a single result or select multiple results for a ZIP. Use Next edit to send the generated copies directly to Resize Image or Image Compression. Downloading or continuing uses the generated watermark, not a small preview screenshot.
Resize or crop before watermarking when the final framing is already known. Changing the composition afterward can remove a corner label or make its size less suitable. If you need a different watermark later, return to the unwatermarked original and generate a new copy.
